Everyone:
This is amazing. Here is what Schoonover and I just heard from Dr. Vanderpool and Chris Keylon.
The U.S. government has been looking for good, close, safe sites to setup large scale medical treatment efforts for Haiti. Long story short, they chose our facility in Jimani... in large part due to the tireless work of Dr. Victor Atallah and his connections within the Dominican and U.S. government.
So, here is what just happened over the past 2 hours:
- The U.S. just deployed a team of 100 puerto rican MDs plus their staff to Jimani
- They arrived in 3 buses + a tractor trailer
- They have taken over the 10 acre field and setup a tent hospital with 7 operating rooms
- They cleared out and reconfigured the entire Jimani medical clinic for high-thruput surgeries
- They reconfigured the entire orphanage for high-thruput surgeries
- At this point, helicopters are now bringing in large numbers of wounded and surgeries are already taking place
This has been broadcast on CNBC and other media outlets, but I haven't seen it yet.

You are doing a marvelous work. My daughter is an anesthetist who is currently there working. She has sent pictures. Hopefully in the summer, some non medical people can volunteer their time. Thank you for all you do.
