We've been receiving a lot of questions from you about the flow of our aid into Haiti. We'll be posting a series of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) that will answer these questions.
The first questions is: Where are our donations going?
We are working with the Chandasha Foundation that has built a 10 acre compound that houses
an orphanage, school, mission house and two operating rooms. We refer to this as the 'Jimani Project' due to it's location in Jimani, Dominican Republic. This is our teams base camp. The image here is the operating room that was taken last year. It serves as a staging area for U.S. and also as a constant service site for the local Haitian & Dominican communities.
The compound has been opened up to the Dominican and Haitian governments and over 1,800 people with traumatic injuries are now living here.
All of the monetary and medical donations received will be going to supporting the work based out of this facility. This includes those housed in the compound and importantly our team will be reaching into the surrounding Haitian communities to provide aid. With most of the aid agencies
