Haitian Teenage's In Knoxville for Heart Surgery

Rodney, a 15 year old Haitian orphan, arrived in Knoxville yesterday for heart surgery. Clint & Kristine Doiron traveled to Haiti last week to get a medical visa and bring him to the U.S. It took a couple of Senators, an Ambassador and some incredibly dedicated people to get him from the desperation he lives in to a hospital where his life will be forever changed. Rodney suffers from Tetralogy of Fallot, a fatal condition usually corrected at less than one year of age.

Doctors and hospitals in Knoxville have generously donated their time & facilities to saving this young man's life!

Rodney had his echo-cardiogram and blood work done today and sugery is scheduled for Thursday.

More as his surgery & recovery progresses...

A New Way To Help

The food drive in 2008 was so successful, helped feed so many people, that we want to do it again!

This time we are focusing on assisting a network of orphanages/schools run by Harvest Field Ministries . These children need food, medicine, clothes, books...you name it they need it!

How can you help? You're donation of money to Harvest Field will go 100% towards the children's direct needs. We'll be blogging about how exactly the money is being utilized, so you'll get to know those that you are helping!

How can you donate? The easiest way is to show up at the Hudson Alpha family picnic this Friday with a check made out to Harvest Field Ministries (its tax deductible). There will be several collection points set up. If you can't make it by the picnic then just follow the directions below:
